Exploring and Experiencing the Subtle Body: External, Internal & Secret Tsa Lung
with Alejandro Chaoul Reich
October 5-7, 2009
Well-being in the Tibetan tradition is a holistic sense of wellness that encompasses body, energy, and mind. The ancient Bon Mother Tantra is a tradition that has been rediscovered in the 11th century and provides many different meditative techniques for healing and enlightenment.
Participants will learn the three sets (external, internal and secret) of Tsa lung (“channels and vital breath”) meditative and movement practices from the Mother Tantra. This retreat will provide an in-depth experiential exploration of the body’s energetic dimension or subtle body, composed by channels, the vital breath (lung, prana or qi) that circulates through them, and the subtle aspects of the mind that guide them, working with one’s energetic centers (chakras) to provide a sense of embodied meditation.
These movements relate to the qualities of the five elements (earth, water, fire, air and space) and can help to remove physical, mental and energetic blocks, allowing you to connect to your inner wisdom and potential to achieve a relaxed yet aware state of mind and a healthier lifestyle.
Note: Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing and should bring a cushion if choosing to sit on the floor.
Public Talk: Alejandro will be giving a public talk the evening preceding the retreat on the complementary tsa lung practices. More...
