Currently there are six affiliated centers in our organization: Ligmincha Institute of Charlottesville, Virginia, Chamma Ling of Crestone, Colorado, Ligmincha of Texas, Ligmincha of California, Garuda Asociacin Cultura Tibetana of Mexico, and Zwiazek Khyung Dzong w Polsce of Poland. Serenity Ridge is the retreat center that serves all the Ligmincha groups. The French Yungdrung Bön Association is not directly affiliated, but has similar goals. While Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche gives the most teachings in our centers, we frequently enjoy teachings by visiting lamas from India and Nepal. Most notably, we have had many retreats lead by His Holiness Lungtog Tenpai Nyima, the head of the Bön religion, by Lopon Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche, the most senior teacher of our lineage, and by Khempo Tenpa Yungdrung, the abbot of Triten Norbutse. Each of the centers keeps up its own schedule of regular activities including seminars, sitting meditation, Trul Khor (Tibetan yoga from the Bön tradition), retreats, and social events. There are also many other unaffiliated groups around the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe. Ligmincha Institute of Charlottesville, Virginia was the first of the centers, founded in 1992. We offer seminars and retreats on many aspects of Tibet's cultures and religions. We also have meditation sessions and classes onseveral days each week Wednesday and Sunday evenings. We offer a series of introductory sessions to help newcomers learn to meditate on a regular basis. Ligmincha of Charlottesville helps coordinate events for all the regional centers and maintains the Serenity Ridge retreat center. We host at least four large teaching retreats each year, which draw participants from throughout the world. Serenity Ridge is Ligmincha Institute's retreat center located 30 minutes south of Charlottesville, Virginia in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s nearly 20 acres rests atop a mountain ridge overlooking the Rockfish river valley and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. We purchased this property in 1998, complete with two modern residences and a large, well-built storage building. We have renovated the structures to make them more suitable for retreats, and built a three story Garuda House that will be the structural core ofincludes our dormitory and guest room facility. We have already hosted many functions there, as well as regular meditations sessions each Sunday. On site accommodations for 60 guests are currently under construction. Serenity Ridge can host events with up to 100 participants. Web site: http://www.lishu.org/ Unaffiliated Groups There are many other groups throughout North America and Europe that meet regularly to practice the teachings of Bön as taught by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and our guest Lamas. These are usually organized by individuals of their own initiative for requesting teachings from teachers of our lineage. Some have regular meetings for meditation while others do not. If an unaffiliated group grows and develops stability it may apply to become one of our affiliated centers.
